How We Rank
We ranked everything in Catch and Feed a Brainrot by one metric: how much it contributes to your income. Mutations are ranked by their multiplier value relative to cost. Variants are ranked by their multiplier since you can't buy them. Brainrots are ranked by base BR/hour earnings. When items are close in multiplier, we factor in cost efficiency — Crystal (x9 at $6.5ST) ranks above Glitch (x8 at $246.7QT) because you get more bang for your buck.
The mutation stacking formula is what makes this game's economy interesting. Since mutations add together and variants multiply the sum, every new mutation you buy gets amplified by your variant. That means even a B-tier mutation like Sparkle (x4) becomes significant when Shiny (x5) is multiplying the total. Focus on getting the S and A tier mutations first, then fill in with B tier as you can afford them. For the full breakdown of every mutation and how the formula works, check our mutations guide. FAQ
What's the best mutation in Catch and Feed a Brainrot?
Vampire at x12 multiplier. It's the highest single mutation in the game. If you can only afford one mutation, make it this one. Rainbow (x10) is the second choice if Vampire isn't available in the Potions Shop.
Does this tier list change with updates?
Yes. The devs add new mutations and adjust balance periodically. Vampire was reportedly added in a recent update. We'll re-rank after every major patch. Check back after game updates to see if anything shifted.
Should I prioritize mutations or better Brainrots?
Mutations first. A Common Brainrot with Vampire + Rainbow + Shiny variant earns more than a naked Legendary. Mutations multiply your base income, so they have a bigger impact than upgrading your Brainrot's rarity. Get at least 2-3 strong mutations before chasing Legendaries.
Are variants worth chasing?
Absolutely, but you can't buy them — they appear randomly. Shiny (x5) multiplies your entire mutation stack, which is massive. The difference between no variant and Shiny can be 5x your total income. You can't control when you get one, but when you do, it changes everything.
What's the best combo for a new player?
Start with Lightning (x3, cheapest useful mutation) and work toward Crystal (x9, best value for money). Once you have those two stacked, save for Rainbow or Vampire. Any variant you roll along the way is a bonus. Don't waste money on Wet (x2) — save for Lightning instead.
